Welcome
The Group is run by Bob Moore, Hon FRPS, with the aim of bringing photographers of all abilities together in a friendly and informal way to view and discuss photographs and techniques. We meet monthly and usually have a guest speaker for the first half of the evening followed by a look at members’ photos from the latest ‘Photo Challenge’. The ‘Challenge’ is set by Bob at the end of the evening each month; examples from recent ‘Challenges’ can be found elsewhere on the site. Although not strictly necessary for the first couple of visits everyone is encouraged to join the Social Section of our host club, The Solihull Arden Club. We have a bar open before each meeting and also during the break and at the end.
Group members are also encouraged to enter photographic competitions held by other groups, societies, etc. and the Group has had some significant successes.
We also host occasional RPS Distinctions evenings at which members and guests can obtain advice and constructive criticism on work which they are considering using in panels for consideration by the RPS for the award of a Distinction.
We meet at The Solihull Arden Club, Sharmans Cross Road, at 8.00pm and usually on the first Tuesday of the month. Please check the Meetings page for more details.
